Beyonce to Release Two New Songs on Self-Titled Album’s ‘Platinum Edition’
UPDATE: A representative of Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment has told Billboard that an alleged “leaked” track list that circulated last weekend was “completely made up” and the only new songs will be “7/11” and “Ring Off.”
The rumors are true, sort of: Beyoncé will expand on her blockbuster self-titled album this holiday season with a Platinum Edition Box Set that adds an extra disc of music and another DVD chronicling a gig from Beyoncé’s Mrs. Carter Show World Tour to the “visual album” CD/DVD combo she dropped last year. The Platinum Edition arrives Monday, November 24th.
Platinum Edition Box Set will features two new Beyoncé tracks, “7/11” and “Ring Off,” as well as four new remixes, including the previously released “Flawless” remix with Nicki Minaj. Beyoncé‘s “Blow” will get the Pharrell Williams treatment, the pre-Beyoncé single “Standing on the Sun” will be remixed by Mr. Vegas and the long-rumored “Drunk In Love” featuring both Jay Z and Kanye West will also be included on Platinum.
The Platinum Edition‘s four discs also come with Beyoncé’s 2015 mini-calendar. Fans who digitally purchased Beyoncé when it arrived out of nowhere in December 2013 will have the option of buying only the new material.
Over the weekend, a potentially fake “leaked” music industry memo first opened up the possibility of a Beyoncé sequel. And while that dispatch ended up being right, it was still very wrong: The track list on the memo promised 11 new tracks, including tracks liked “DONK” featuring Nicki Minaj, “Renouncement” with Justin Timberlake and cuts called “KO,” “Loyal” and “True.” As it stands now, none of those are on the Platinum collection, nor does it include a DVD showcasing Beyoncé and Jay Z recent On the Run Tour HBO concert special.
A representative for Columbia Records referred Rolling Stone to Beyonce’s personal rep, who did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
