Kenny Chesney Discusses Time Off Before ‘The Big Revival’
Kenny Chesney would be considered a superstar in anyone’s book and by any measure of his career, but in terms of his summer touring duties alone, the country icon is undoubtedly head and shoulders above the pack. However, even megastars need some time off to regroup, and Chesney is no exception.
Before starting work on his new album, The Big Revival (due out Tuesday), Chesney made the decision to take off one summer from the road in order to do what most of us do when we have some time off … have a little fun.
The singer exclusively shared with Yahoo Music what he has been up to in the year he took off from the road; as it turns out, he kept himself pretty busy. “I was able to travel and see some things I haven’t seen before,” he says, adding, “It’s kind of ironic because all I do is travel.”
He also relates how he learned to surf, was able to enjoy the World Series and other sports events, and put more time into his various side projects — including his thriving rum business, and a new film he’s working on.
Chesney’s latest set marks his 15th studio album overall, and he’s been so excited about it that he’s shared several songs off the album already. He’ll no doubt continue to be quite busy following the release of the record, so be sure to keep up with his schedule here.
