Carrie Underwood Talks New Music, New Motorcycle
When country’s “Thelma,” Miranda Lambert, bought her “Louise,” Carrie Underwood, a motorcycle as a thank you gift for singing on “Somethin’ Bad,” it escalated the bond between the two superstars. There was only one thing left for Underwood to do — learn to ride it. Backstage at the CMT Music Awards following their performance, Underwood confessed that’s still on her to-do list — along with readying material for her next album.

“Yes, that is my intention,” she said of her new toy. “I need to start smaller because it’s a really big, serious motorcycle. My husband thanks her for it, for sure. I’m starting with a dirt bike. I know I can hurt myself on a dirt bike, but it won’t be as much as I could hurt myself on that motorcycle.”
She’ll have to fit in some riding lessons in between a busy studio schedule. Underwood says she’s ready to record new music, the follow-up to 2012’s Blown Away. “I’ve been writing a lot and I feel like now we’re at the point where we have a lot of awesome songs. We just have to figure out what I want to do with them. We don’t have a set [release] date right now. I always say, ‘When it’s done, it’s done.’ But it’s feeling really good. So hopefully I’ll be in the recording studio pretty dang soon and we’ll go from there.”
