Watch ‘The Best of Me’ Movie Trailer Featuring New Lady Antebellum Love Song
Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, David Nail, Eli Young Band, Kip Moore and Kacey Musgraves will help provide the musical accompaniment to a best-selling love story. The artists are included on the soundtrack for the upcoming film, The Best of Me, based on the popular Nicholas Sparks novel. (See the full track list below.)
Set to open nationwide October 17th, The Best of Me stars Michelle Monaghan and James Marsden as former high school sweethearts who reunite at a mutual friend’s funeral 20 years later. Lady A paired with Monty Powell to write “I Did With You,” a nostalgic love song inspired by Sparks’ storyline. Hear a clip of the tune in the movie’s trailer above.
This is the first time the country trio have recorded a song specifically for a movie, though their Grammy-winning hit, “Need You Now” was used in the 2012 Oscar-nominated film, Zero Dark Thirty.
Lady Antebellum only have a handful of tour dates left this year but will no doubt have a whirlwind media tour in support of their new album, 747, which hits stores September 30th.
“We unanimously knew that our album title had to be 747,” says the trio’s Hillary Scott. “The track itself has this pushing, driving spirit about it that sums up our attitude right now. We are pushing ourselves as a band and as songwriters … taking ourselves out of our comfort zone and not taking ourselves too seriously. There’s an urgency and an energy to it that we’ve never released before.”
