Cameron Diaz Refutes Bobby Moynihan’s Romantic Claims in ‘SNL’ Promo
The last time Cameron Diaz hosted Saturday Night Live, in 2005, comedian Bobby Moynihan was years away from joining the famed sketch series. But in a hilarious new teaser clip for the Diaz-hosted November 22nd episode, Moynihan claims he has a history with the actress – in a romantic capacity.
“Bobby was my first kiss,” Diaz reads from a cue card suspiciously written in crayon. “We French-kissed and German-kissed, and he even grabbed my butt a little.” Moynihan nods excitedly in agreement, even mouthing the words when Diaz reads that they “made love on the roof of the Die Hard building.”
The clip opens with the unlikely duo staring out a window at the New York City skyline. “Cameron, if you owned all of New York City, what would you do?” Moynihan asks, to which Diaz responds that she would pursue her dream of hosting SNL, backed by musical guests Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson. When Moynihan reminds her that, in fact, she’s accomplishing that goal this weekend, Diaz responds, “Does this mean I own New York City?” The promo also features a gag about an SNL viewer winning a date with the actress.
Diaz will be promoting a new film adaptation of the classic musical Annie, which hits theaters on December 19th. (The cast also includes Jamie Foxx, with Quvenzhané Wallis in the iconic title role.) SNL musical guests Mars and Ronson will perform their newly released collaborative single, the bass-driven “Uptown Funk,” supported by a “very special guest.”
