Watch Justin Timberlake Join Fallon for Hilarious Summer Camp Sketch
Years before they became an Emmy-winning late-night host and global music superstar, Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake were just two dorky pre-teens sharing a room at summer camp. Or at least that’s the hilarious premise for the “Camp Winnipesaukee” sketch from Tuesday night’s Tonight Show, in which the two roomies play an awkward game of Truth or Dare, sing a glorious duet of Third Eye Blind’s angst-filled 1997 classic “Jumper” and annoy their counselor, Mr. Fletcher (played by head writer A.D. Miles).
“Hey Justin, are you asleep?” a braces-sporting Fallon asks to open the piece, holding a flashlight and speaking in a nasally voice similar to his popular “Ew!” character. The two discuss their developing body hair (or lack thereof), and Timberlake reveals that his secret crush is “Kimmy Gibbler from Full House.” The boys then unleash their harmony-filled version of “Jumper,” which leads to Mr. Fletcher interrupting their bedtime “hubbub” and revoking their Snack Shack privileges. “This is Camp Winnipesaukee,” he warns, “not Camp ‘I Wanna Sing-ee!” (Later, we learn that he was involved in a tragic “weed-eating accident”).
Elsewhere in the episode, rapper Nicki Minaj dropped by to promote her newly released album, The Pinkprint, and perform the ballad “Bed of Lies” with guest singer Skylar Grey. Watch the performance below.
Minaj also sat down with Fallon to talk about her music and acting career – and the random jobs she held before getting her big break. “I was an office manager, and I would kind of call out any time I wanted,” the rapper noted. She also talked about her days as a waitress, adding that her customer service was shaky at best.
Fallon also brought out one of Minaj’s high school yearbook photos, embarrassing the performer. But he evened the score by revealing his own awkward picture, complete with a barely-there would-be mustache.
