Vilsack’s Back! And Backing… Obama?!
Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack (Vilsack!), one of Hillary Clinton’s staunchest supporters, has put down the cup and backed away from the Kool-Aid, saying today:
“After Tuesday’s contests, she needs to acknowledge that he’s going to be the nominee and quickly get behind him.”
…
For anyone still catching up on this weekend’s status-quo preserving action, some Democratic bureaucrats divvied up Michigan’s delegation 69-59 in favor of Clinton, recognized Florida’s flawed vote, and then docked each delegate from both states half of their voting power, to punish the states for jumping in line.
This lady didn’t like it:
Clinton then routed Obama in Puerto Rico, but he nonetheless came away with enough delegates to reduce his magic number (under the new (Florida+Michigan)/2 math) to 44 — or almost exactly where it was on Friday.
The Obama camp is now setting expectations that their candidate will become the presumptive nominee with a small avalanche of super delegates piling on Tuesday night after the final primaries in South Dakota and Montana.
