Kanye West to Debut Women’s Clothing Line
In August, Rolling Stone reported that Kanye West was strongly rumored to debut his long-anticipated womenswear, in collaboration with British designer Louise Goldin, at September’s New York Fashion Week. That didn’t quite pan out – however, the line will still be making its debut in time for the Spring 2012 season, Thread Count learns today.
According to Australian Harper’s Bazaar, West’s yet-to-be-titled line will make its runway premiere at the far more exclusive Paris Fashion Week, showing on October 1st at 9:30 pm. He is scheduled to present right after Jean Paul Gaultier – some mighty harrowing steps to follow, but we’re sure West feels equipped for the task.
With Australian Harper’s own Christina Centenera and Goldin co-helming the collection with the rapper, there’s no question that his line will demand to be seen as more than “just another celebrity label.” In just sixteen days, we will finally see if it can stand up to its lofty promise.
