Speakers Built From Wood of Michael Jackson’s Dance Floor
Audio accessory maker Croft House is now selling speakers made from wood flooring that Michael Jackson allegedly danced on. The models are available in maple that adorned the King of Pop’s Los Angeles dance space and fir planks from a Capitol Records studio, as well as iPod and Bluetooth-compatible editions.
Floorboards on which the pop star is said to have practiced for his tours adorn several speaker units, including the unfortunately-named Black Betty ($249.99), Muddy Ducky ($349.99) and Thunderstump ($1,349.99). Personalized system configurations allow audiophiles to choose between burlap and vintage speaker fabrics or add a Bluetooth receiver for wireless playback.
While Croft House can confirm the origins of the construction materials used in the speakers and maintain that “historically correct wood” is used, they can’t say which specific boards the chart-topping artist actually touched. Nevertheless, fans of the pop star may find the speakers a unique conversation starter.
