Nicki Minaj Announces Nail Polish Collection
Nicki Minaj follows the success of last year’s Pink Friday MAC lipstick with another partnership, her own capsule collection for nail polish brand OPI. Minaj’s pastel-hued lipstick (timed to the release of her album by the same name) was sold only on Fridays through the 2010 holiday season, and proved to be a hit. Now, she follows in the footsteps of Katy Perry, Glee and Justin Bieber with a line of nail polishes named after her tunes.
The Nicki Minaj for OPI range, to be made available in six shades for $8.50 each, will be suitably flamboyant: the palette will include a purple shade (“Super-Bass Shatter,” inspired by grafitti), the self-explanatory “Metallic 4 Life,” aquamarine and lime shades, and even a rainbow hue (“Save Me”) to match Minaj’s own head-turning coif. The sixth color? “Pink Friday,” of course. Minaj’s capsule OPI range launches in January 2012, and will sell at Sephora and other select outlets.
