TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek Launches Online Pop-Up Shop
Federal Prism, the label run by TV on the Radio‘s Dave Sitek, will be selling a number of exclusive and limited-edition records from artists like Thelonious Monk, Johnny Cash, Chuck Inglish and the Julie Ruin through an online pop-up shop, running on PledgeMusic for the next 60 days.
Among the featured items are a pressing of Monk’s penultimate album, Underground, on 180-gram color vinyl; a seven-inch featuring a new song from Kathleen Hanna’s the Julie Ruin, “Blueberry Island” (streaming below); a reissue of the Germs’ rare three-song 7-inch EP, Lexicon Devil; Cool Kids rapper Chuck Inglish’s debut LP, The Convertibles on a number of formats, including a four-disc seven-inch vinyl set and cassette; and a translucent yellow vinyl pressing of Johnny Cash’s second album, Sings the Songs that Made Him Famous. Fans will also be able to pick up TV on the Radio‘s recent single “Mercy” on 12-inch vinyl.
Federal Prism is also offering apparel and creative works, including exclusive T-shirts from Frankie Rose and Mike G of Odd Future, and 15 copies of Yacht Club’s Burnt Cream EP on a USB drive shaped like a pill. The pop-up shop’s current selection is available to peruse now, with Federal Prism promising to add more items over the next two months.
As the website notes, all orders are currently considered “presale.” Although many items will only be pressed in limited runs, they will not be manufactured until either a specified number of orders are placed or the sale closes. Items will be shipped approximately eight weeks after the sale.
