Haim Say Second Album Is ‘Coming Very Soon’
Fans may not have to wait long for Haim’s second album, as singer and guitarist Alana Haim revealed that the Los Angeles sister trio’s next LP is already underway.
“This is the first time we’ve ever written on the road,” she told BBC 6 Music at the Glastonbury Festival. “We’re going home in a month to start recording. I promise record two won’t come in six years – it’ll come very soon.”

A new album arriving so quickly after last year’s Days Are Gone would be yet another in a string of impressive feats for the rock crew. In the past year alone, the sisters have performed on Saturday Night Live, shared bills with Mumford and Sons and Florence and the Machine, recorded with everyone from Major Lazer to Kid Cudi and rocked festival stages from Coachella to Lollapalooza.
Talking to Rolling Stone earlier this year, Haim revealed plans to draw from a wide range of inspiration for their sophomore LP. Specifically, they’re looking to one of the world’s biggest rappers: Kanye West. “We’re always writing and figuring out new vibes and trying to get our inner Kanyes out,” said Alana.
“I have yet to see Kanye not put out an amazing record – and people don’t understand how hard that is,” she added. “To make record after record and come out with something new and push the boundaries and have it succeed every single time is insane. If I could choose any brain to just chill in, for, like, 10 minutes, it’d be Kanye’s. I just want to see what goes on up there. Because he’s a genius.”
Haim took their time polishing their debut. “We’re pretty much the biggest perfectionists,” Alana told Rolling Stone last year of the long road to Days Are Gone. “It took a lot of strength for us to say we wanted to wait. People dangle a lot of stuff in front of you…there were times where we were like, ‘Shit, we should just put it out already.'”
