¿Como Se Dice ‘Eat My Dust’?
When John McCain solidified his status as the presumptive Republican nominee, he vowed to take his maverick appeal to blue states like California and New York and campaign for votes long beyond the GOP’s white-male grasp.
As the Democratic candidates bludgeon Hoosiers and Tar Heels — and each other — with gas tax slams and last-ditch ads, McCain has been creeping in on their turf. He started by touring civil rights landmarks in Alabama, and this morning his campaign announced the launch of a Spanish language website, just in time for Cinco de Mayo. (Bush won roughly 40% of the Hispanic vote in 2004 — that’s huge for a minority group, but hardly a reliable bloc like Bible Belters.)
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton (sort of) also have sites en español.
