Jon Stewart on Herman Cain: ‘I Don’t Have Facts to Back This Up …’
On last night’s Daily Show, Jon Stewart took a look at the meteoric rise of GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain. The keys to his success: branding and charm, yes, but substance and smarts, too. How else could he see right through these bogus Wall Street protests? “These demonstrations are planned and orchestrated to distract from the failed policies of the Obama administration,” he noted the other day. Now, of course, he conceded as how “I don’t have facts to back this up,” but how else to explain the raggedy mobs? It’s not like there’s any real reason to be mad at Wall Street. “They did have something to do with the crisis we went into in 2008, but we’re not in 2008, we’re in 2011.” Cue much Daily Show comedy at the “Black Walnut”‘s expense. Check it out.
