Wii U Sports, Fit, Music Games Coming Soon?
Nintendo has filed for a number of new trademarks that point to possible future video game releases, including Wii Fit U, Wii Sports U and Wii Music U, according to Siliconera. While trademarks may have simply been registered as a preventative measure, fans wouldn’t be amiss to speculate that several of the suggested software titles may indeed be in development.
Among more notable examples registered by Nintendo are Wii Party U, Wii Play U, WiiWare U and Mii U, all seemingly obvious extensions for existing games and services for the company’s current Wii system. Other registered trademarks include Wii U Balance Board, Wii U Wheel and Wii Zapper, potentially indicating new hardware accessories and controllers intended for sale in the future.
Curiously, Nintendo has also registered a trademark on “Shield Pose,” the name of a demonstration it previously used to show off the Wii U video game system at the E3 gaming tradeshow in June.
