Best Nintendo 3DS Games: Launch Lineup Revealed
Eighteen new games will be available for the Nintendo 3DS, the glasses-free 3D game system, when the handheld launches on March 27th.
The most promising debut titles? Super Street Fighter 4 3D Edition, Ridge Racer 3D and Pilotwings Resort. Versions of top outings, like nintendogs + cats, Madden NFL Football and LEGO Star Wars III are also planned. (Sadly, new versions of the popular Kid Icarus, Resident Evil and The Legend of Zelda are not.) All games will retail for $39.99. (The system itself costs $249.99.)
The lineup, which spans genres from platform-hopping arcade adventures to sports games and simulations, should fulfill the system’s promise of bringing affordable, ergonomic 3D special effects to players’ pockets the world over.
More than 30 games are expected by June, with celebrated franchises such as Mario Kart and Star Fox also due for a comeback sometime in 2011. The full list of Nintendo 3DS launch lineup titles follows.
