Jay-Z Announces ‘Occupy All Streets’ T-Shirt
If anyone is a member of the 1%, it’s Jay-Z, who took home over $63 million last year alone. But like his Givenchy-clad partner in crime, Kanye West, he’s spiritually Occupying Wall Street and spreading the word, wearing his populist intentions on his sleeve, er, shirt. Today, you can, too: Rocawear, the rapper’s multi-million dollar clothing label, released an “Occupy All Streets” shirt. A few hours into its shelf life, the $22 shirt is already on back order.
Clever merchandising, but will any of the profits benefit the actual OWS movement? Not necessarily, say Rocawear reps. “At this time we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement,” a company statement to Business Insider claims. “‘Occupy All Streets’ is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street.”
