VIDEO: Kill Team: Donald Rumsfeld’s ‘Worse Than Abu Ghraib’ Tour
Are the grisly photos showing U.S. soldiers grinning over the corpses of murdered civilians — published last week by Rolling Stone — “worse” than the images of prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib? Does it matter? It certainly does to Donald Rumsfeld. Abu Ghraib happened on his watch as Defense Secretary; it’s the blackest stain on his name. There’s obviously a big upside for him in convincing people that what happened Afghanistan was much worse — and so that’s what he’s been trying to do. Here he is this morning, on Fox News’ Fox & Friends, arguing that the media endlessly “hyped and pounded” the Abu Ghraib story, but lost interest in the “vastly worse” Kill Team revelations after a day.
