T-Mobile Launches Cell Phone Caller ID Service
T-Mobile has launched a new Name ID subscription service that offers Android smartphone owners caller ID services for $3.99 per month, courtesy of partner Cequint. Following a free 10-day trial, users will have to pay a monthly fee for ongoing usage.
Available on the Samsung Exhibit 4G handset now and arriving on the myTouch 4G Slide shortly, the service will display the name, number, city and state of incoming callers, including unknown parties. Subscribers will also be able to save this confirmation to their phone, allowing them to add contacts to their address book. If contacts already exist in your phonebook, current information for the dialer, rather than that supplied by Cequint, will be displayed instead.
T-Mobile also plans to roll out the service to additional cellular phones over the coming year. Be careful who you prank call.
