Insane Clown Posse Launch Social Network Site ‘Juggalobook’
The Insane Clown Posse have launched their own social network site called Juggalobook. The site, which is closely modeled on Facebook, right down to its layout, is designed to cater to the band’s hardcore fan base of “Juggalos,” who have developed their own distinct subculture around the band and their annual Gathering of the Juggalos festival. Juggalos were recently classified as a gang in the FBI’s 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment.
Thus far, nearly 10,000 ICP fans have signed up to use the network, which is extremely similar to Facebook and similar sites. Users can “Whoop Whoop!” a post rather than “like” it, and female fans have the option of signing up as either a Jugalette or a female Juggalo. (The difference, presumably, is that a Juggalette is a girlfriend of a Juggalo, while a female Juggalo is a fan in her own right.)
According to a report from Vice Magazine, the network is “basically a horny teenager’s cough syrup-induced daymare,” with users eager to sext and share “shockingly intimate confessions.”
