Louis C.K. Relishes Hunky ‘Earth Guy Art’ in Unaired ‘SNL’ Sketch
Louis C.K.‘s return to Saturday Night Live featured plenty of absurdity—where else will you see President Obama kissing Justin Bieber in the name of universal health care—but as always, some of the most ridiculous stuff was cut after dress rehearsal. Case in point, “Space Encounter,” which NBC has graciously put up online and features C.K. as a maniacal alien, Zortag, with a peculiar penchant for images of hunky, shirtless Earth men. Or as he calls it, “Earth guy art.”
After escaping from the crystal prison on the crystalline planet, Zortag hails a Federation Space ship and demands they beam over their lithium cores or face destruction. Grave stuff, though the Federation Space crew seems more taken aback by the photos hanging throughout Zortag’s ship, which he soon explains as not a sexual thing: “We just like these for their cool, fun, vibe.” The stock photos feature titles like “Man Making Milkshakes on the Beach,” “Gene Hangs Out By Rock” or “Muscular Man Calls for Silence,” which Zortag paid a fortune for at auction. So flattered by the Space Federation’s appreciation of his collection, Zortag drops the lithium core business and beams them over a special gift: “Chad Irons his Earth Shirt.”
Louis C.K. Comes Clean on Shame, Failures and No Groupies
C.K. is prepping for the long-awaited return of his hit FX show, Louie, which comes back for its fourth season on May 5th after a 19-month hiatus. The comedian is also at work on a new show for FX created by Zach Galifianakis, who would also star in the series. Though details are slim, the show would be the first the network is considering after striking a development deal with C.K.’s Pig Newton production company back in December.
