The Killers Roll Out the Hits on ‘Kimmel’
The Killers were all about the hits last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing three of their biggest songs in support of their brand new compilation, Direct Hits. Frontman Brandon Flowers seemed spry as ever, bounding about the stage during “Mr. Brightside,” a song that seems physically impossible to tire of no matter how many thousands of times you hear it.

Below, the certified Killers classics continue with a bombastic rendition of “When You Were Young,” accented by characteristically ferocious cymbal crashes courtesy of drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (The track was also remixed by Calvin Harris for Direct Hits.) The band closed out their set with “All These Things That I’ve Done” and, as if you’d expect anything less than ginormous, the band tapped a chorus of gospelized backup singers to juice the song’s already soaring refrain “I got soul, but I’m not a soldier.”
If you’re itching for more, the Killers took the stage at Kimmel on Tuesday night as well, where they performed “Shot at the Night”for the first time on TV. Produced by M83’s Anthony Gonzalez, “Shot at the Night” is one of two new cuts, along with “Just Another Night,” collected on Direct Hits, which was released on November 11th. The compilation follows up the band’s last studio release, 2012’s Battle Born.
