Josh Homme Jams With Reggie Watts on ‘Taxidermy Love’
If there’s one subject that’s underrepresented in popular music, it’s the love a person can feel for taxidermy. Josh Homme and Reggie Watts are doing their part to change that in a new “Reggie Makes Music” webisode accompanying the IFC series Comedy Bang! Bang!

Watts on keyboards and Homme on vocals improvise a tune that turns into a meditation on taxidermy love, or at least repeats the phrase over and over. The tempo is erratic and the musical arrangement is, well, haphazard, but the pair had enough fun for Homme to wrap Watts in a tender embrace when they closed out their jam.
Homme’s appearance was a comic turn for the Queens of the Stone Age frontman, whose band released . . . Like Clockwork earlier this year. The album was the band’s first since 2007, and followed Homme’s lengthy hospitalization with the potent staph infection MRSA after what was supposed to have been routine knee surgery. “I was very bitter and angry,” he told Rolling Stone in June. “You go, ‘God, I wish I could get rid of myself.’ I hated music for a while. It just seemed like, who cares?”
Comedy Bang! Bang! airs Fridays at 10 p.m. EST on IFC. This week’s episode will feature Jason Schwartzman, the Sklar Brothers and Paul Rust.
