Pharrell, Jimmy Kimmel Square Off in High-Stakes Selfie Competition
Always on the cutting edge, Jimmy Kimmel is pushing the art of the selfie into uncharted territory . Not only has he made a game out of snapping as many pics with people on the street, he’s also introduced the game-changing term “twofie” for when you capture another person in the frame. The comedian combined the two Wednesday night for a hilarious new segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, squaring off with Pharrell Williams in a “Twofie Shootout” that found the two darting down Hollywood Boulevard to see who could take as many photos with strangers — and costumed characters — in 30 seconds. Two pairs of eyes and two noses had to be in the frame in order for the shot to count, and the winner got Pharrell’s hat — though not the one that would make a Canadian Mountie jealous.

Frenetic and anxious man that he is, Kimmel scurried and snapped his way to 10 points, while Pharrell, always calm, cool and collected, only scored six. Though in the musician’s defense, he did have to contend with a sizeable crowd trying to take photos of him all the while. Plus, we think he should be awarded a bonus point for the selfie he took with the woman who was taking a selfie with him at the same time.
Pharrell also stuck around for a performance of the funked-out dance floor filler “Come Get it Bae” off his new solo record Girl, which you can check out below.
