Stevie Nicks Will Play Herself on ‘American Horror Story’
With Stevie Nicks officially headed to the witch house on American Horror Story: Coven, the show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that the Fleetwood Mac singer would (moderate spoilers ahead) appear as herself and be a part of Fiona’s plan to get the true Supreme to reveal herself.
Murphy added that Fiona will use Nicks as a way to prove to Misty Day that if she shows more power, she’ll get all the great things in life that the Supreme does (like tickets to the Oscars and the Met Ball). Day professed her love for all things Stevie in Episode Two, and said that Fleetwood Mac‘s “Rhiannon” inspired her to become a witch. And yes, there will definitely be a duet between Misty and Nicks, though they’re still figuring out which song they’ll sing.

Nicks is set to appear in the 10th episode of the show’s current season, right when they return from winter break. The cameo almost didn’t happen, though, despite Nicks’ interest in appearing on the show. Her Fleetwood Mac tour itinerary conflicted with American Horror Story‘s shooting schedule until the band was forced to cancel dates so John McVie could undergo cancer treatment. “Then she called and said, ‘I’m now available, sadly enough, if you wanna use me,'” Murphy recalls. “So I said, ‘Let’s do it!’ So she’s flying in for like two days and doing her scenes. I know every person in the show is like, ‘I better be in that goddamn scene!’ It’s funny.”
American Horror Story is currently in its third season on FX. An anthology show with changing casts and storylines, this season follows a group of witches in modern-day New Orleans, with flashbacks to the 1830s. It was recently renewed for a fourth season. Next year, however, will mark the final season for actress Jessica Lange, who has appeared in all three so far.
