‘N Sync-Backstreet Boys Zombie Movie Unleashes Bloody Trailer
Members of ‘N Sync, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees and O-Town are gearing up to fight zombies in the Wild, Wild West. Above, see the bloody trailer for Dead 7, which premieres on SyFy on April 1st.
“In the Wild West, to fight the undead, you have to resurrect Ninenties boy bands,” reads the trailer before kicking into the film’s action sequences. The pop stars wield guns and swill whisky as they team up to fight off a zombie invasion in their town.
Backstreet Boys‘ Nick Carter wrote and stars in the new film, which features his band members Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean as well as ‘N Sync’s Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick. “It’s a zombie Western futuristic horror movie,” Carter teased to Rolling Stone last July. “My character is still being worked out right now, but I’m a good guy that’s going to help save the day.”
In the same interview, his bandmate McLean compared the movie to another SyFy film, Sharknado. “Movies like this can turn into cult phenomenons, and that’s what Sharknado happened to be,” he said. “I watched it, I’m like ‘OK, this is ridiculous, but I’m still watching it and I think it’s awesome.'”
