Radiohead Announce First U.S. Concerts in Four Years
After lining up a series of festival dates around the globe, Radiohead have announced their first U.S. concerts in four years. Although the band has still not revealed the details surrounding the follow-up to 2011’s The King of Limbs, Thom Yorke and company have lined up four U.S. headlining shows: July 26 and 27th at New York’s Madison Square Garden and August 4th & 8th at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.
“These are all the headline shows that the band will play in 2016,” the band’s Dead Air Space notes, although that doesn’t eliminate soon-to-be-announced appearances at U.S. music festivals; Radiohead have already booked a headlining gig at Quebec’s Osheaga fest and have promised to “add a few more” festival appearances to their summer slate, the band said in a statement.
In an attempt “to minimise secondary ticketing and to give more fans a chance to buy a ticket at its intended price, restrictions will apply, including a limit of 2 tickets per order on all shows.” Check out the band’s W.A.S.T.E. page for full on-sale information.
After over three years of musical inactivity, Radiohead ended their silence on December 25th to unveil “Spectre,” their unused theme for the James Bond film Spectre; producers opted instead for Sam Smith’s Oscar-winning “The Writing’s on the Wall.” Throughout 2015, Radiohead was rumored to be working on their ninth studio album.
