Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift Score CMT Nominations
From the aggressive “Kerosene” to the dreamy “Over You,” Miranda Lambert has had a touch for making evocative music videos. And on June 4th, her latest, for nostalgic single “Automatic,” may be the big winner at the CMT Music Awards. The clip was nominated for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year when nominations were announced this morning.
Miranda Lambert Gets Personal on ‘Platinum’
Lambert received a leading total of six nods, including two for her collaboration with Keith Urban, “We Were Us,” and two for the appearance of her throwback trio Pistol Annies in the video for her husband Blake Shelton’s “Boys ‘Round Here.”
Polarizing duo Florida Georgia Line and loose-hipped Luke Bryan each received five nominations. In a unique twist, both scored separate nominations for Collaborative Video for the same song, FGL’s country-boy anthem “This Is How We Roll,” which features a guest verse from Bryan.
The winners of the CMT Video Music Awards are chosen by fans, who vote online prior to (and in the case of top prize Video of the Year, during) the broadcast. The show airs Wednesday, June 4th at 8 p.m. ET on CMT.
