Luke Bryan Recalls Love and Loss on ‘Roller Coaster’
Life’s hardly a beach for Luke Bryan in his latest video for the bittersweet, contemplative “Roller Coaster.” The follow-up to the chart-topping “Play It Again” is the fifth single release from the nearly double-platinum-selling album, Crash My Party. The clip was shot while the country superstar was in Panama City Beach, Fla., for his annual spring break concerts earlier this year.
Luke Bryan Twists and Turns on ‘Roller Coaster’
“‘Roller Coaster’ is what I feel like is just a masterpiece from front to back,” says the Georgia native. “It has all the levels of going back to young love and that feeling of sitting on the beach and young love that you lost, that you’ve let slip through your hands.”
Penned by “two of my best friends,” Michael Carter and Cole Swindell, Luke tells People.com, “I could not be more proud of them. It’s one of the first songs I heard for this album and it is so well crafted!”
The Panama City Beach area has played an important part in the singer’s career. He and his wife Caroline often traveled there for spring break while attending college, and they now have a beach house in the area.
All four previous singles from Crash My Party have reached Number One on the country charts.
