Morrissey’s ‘Vauxhall and I’ Reissue to Include Live Set From 1995
To mark the 20th anniversary of Morrissey‘s Vauxhall and I, Parlophone Records is releasing a “definitive master” of the album, which contained the single “The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I get.” The album was a Number One hit in the U.K. and reached the Top 20 in the U.S.

The new edition, which has been remastered, will be available on CD, vinyl and download and will include previously unseen photos. It will also include a bonus album of Morrissey live in 1995 at London’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. That recording includes five songs from Vauxhall and I and a cover of “Moon River,” among other songs. The reissue will hit stores on June 3rd.
Currently, Morrissey is playing North American dates on a tour that kicked off in San Jose. The set list spanned his entire career, including the Smiths songs “Hand in Glove” and “Meat Is Murder,” as well as songs that will appear on his upcoming 10th solo album, World Peace Is None of Your Business, which comes out in July. The evening ended with a pile-up of stage crashers, forcing the show to end with the Years of Refusal track “One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell.”
In other Morrissey news, his early life leading up to meeting Johnny Marr and forming the Smiths will serve as the basis for a biopic that is set to begin filming later this year. “It’s as much a film for non-Morrissey fans as it is for die-hard devotees, but I can’t deny that this is a love letter to Steven Patrick Morrissey and the dark satanic mills of Manchester,” director Mark Gill said in a statement.
