Watch Adele Confuse Jamba Juice Workers in Absurd ‘Ellen’ Prank
Adele isn’t a public-boozing, wheatgrass-chomping, smoothie-confused diva in real life, but she played one during a hilarious prank segment with help from Ellen DeGeneres. The 25 singer appeared in a remote piece during Thursday’s Ellen, confusing Jamba Juice employees with her bizarre antics as DeGeneres fed her material from an earpiece.
In the clip, Adele becomes perplexed by smoothie sizes, demanding a “large but in a small cup.” (“Sorry, I’ve never been here before,” she says. “We have something similar in England. We call it Swishy Chug … It’s a type of beet and potato mixed together.”) Proudly announcing that “money is no object,” she then rejects all of the employees’ smoothie suggestions – later announcing that she’ll take all of them.
Later, she takes out a pair of scissors, cuts off some wheatgrass by hand, and chomps it down as DeGeneres cackles in the background. “I feel like a deer in a forest,” she says. “What does a deer even sound like?” Elsewhere, she admits to “having the shakes” from her lack of alcohol intake and dumps out the contents of her purse on the counter to see what kind of money she has. “You have knives and Twizzlers,” says one employee.
