Brooklyn Jubilee: Backstage at Barclays With the Avett Brothers
Rolling Stone Deputy Photo Editor Sacha Lecca is a backstage-photo wizard. "Shooting bands behind the scenes and at soundcheck is one of my favorite things to do," he says. "I enjoy essentially being a fly on the wall and capturing the moments, the nerves, laughs, and being around the music." This weekend he tailed the Avett Brothers at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Here, he caught the band in a more serious moment that was quickly followed by some fun as the crew sang lyrics from random songs, including the chorus to "How Bizarre" by OMC.

Lonerism
"Soundcheck started later than expected so I was already onstage for a while photographing the space, the crew working the lights and other details of the environment," Lecca says. "Seth was the first to emerge from the backstage area and sat alone onstage quietly strumming a guitar. He was deep in thought and hadn't noticed me. This felt like a more private moment so despite the band was expecting me to be there I didn't start shooting until I could say hello. This shot of Seth is probably the very first image I shot of the band that afternoon."
