Thomas Rhett Talks Awkward Dancing, Festival Gigs: Ram Report
Thomas Rhett‘s “Die a Happy Man” is the first five-week Number One single of the artist’s career — as well as the first song to achieve that feat since Lady Antebellum’s monster ballad “Need You Now” in 2009.
This summer, Rhett will be taking that song with him on the road, playing a number of festivals, like New York City’s FarmBorough in June. He’s also a part of Chicago’s Windy City LakeShake, set for June 17th through 19th. Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw and Rhett’s current touring partner, Jason Aldean, headline. Brooks & Dunn, Sam Hunt, A Thousand Horses, Chris Janson and Charlie Worsham are also on the bill.
Along with the country-dance sound of his second album, Tangled Up, Rhett has developed a reputation for his Luke Bryan-esque choreography. Even at the good-natured ridicule of his own audience.
“I feel like I get a tweet every other day: ‘Can Thomas Rhett’s dancing get any more awkward?’ Which is hilarious to me. But I like to move, what can I say?” he tells Rolling Stone Country.
Tickets for the Windy City LakeShake go on sale January 29th.
