Dierks Bentley, David Nail Help Launch CMT Summer Concert Series
CMT’s ever-evolving Hot 20 Countdown is getting even bigger. The country programming network has announced the addition of its first-ever summer concert series. Sponsored by Mountain Dew, the performances will kick off Saturday, July 19th, with Kip Moore, who also headlines the annual CMT On Tour trek this fall.

Taped under the popular pedestrian bridge that spans the Cumberland River in Nashville, the concert series also features David Nail (July 26th) and Chris Young (August 9th). Dierks Bentley wraps up the performances on September 6th with a special set during a NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Moore’s show is highlighted by his new single, “Dirt Road,” while Nail plays “Kiss You Tonight” and Young handles his latest, “Who I Am With You.”
Since relaunching Hot 20 Countdown in January 2013 and combining it with CMT’s country news show CMT Insider, the series has become the country version of MTV’s TRL, a lively mix of interviews, news packages and, of course, videos. Filmed in Nashville in front of a live audience, or often on the road at country festivals, Hot 20 Countdown is hosted by Cody Alan, Alecia Davis and Katie Cook.
