Justin Moore Goes ‘Home Sweet Home’ With Motley Crue – Video Premiere
“It’s the country version of ‘Home Sweet Home,'” Justin Moore told Rolling Stone Country on the set of his new video for the remake of the Mötley Crüe classic.
“No, it’s Justin‘s version of ‘Home Sweet Home,'” Crüe lead singer Vince Neil quickly corrected his new friend.

Moore certainly does make the lighters-up rock ballad his own in the video, which makes its world premiere on Rolling Stone Country today. Produced by Shane Drake, the clip was filmed in Moore’s adopted hometown of Nashville, with various scenes that mimic the everyday life of the reigning ACM New Artist of the Year.
“We were able to take the day and break it up into six setups — like Justin was on the road, from on his tour bus to a different green room, to a different venue, to a recording studio, to a soundcheck stage,” Drake explains. “And in all this, you get the idea that this song has the vibe for Justin that he’s on his way home. This song holds dear for him as a family guy and a man who’s on the road a lot.”
The clip ends in a downtown Nashville music venue, where there’s a surprise cameo by, of course, Motley Crüe’s Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars.
“It has been a blast becoming friends with the Motley guys and learning how much they appreciate the history of country music,” says Moore. “They are truly one of the most disruptive bands of their generation and I am honored to be able to cover one of my favorite Crüe songs of all time. It has been pretty unreal singing with Vince Neil.”
“Home Sweet Home” is featured on the upcoming Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Motley Crüe album, which is set for release on August 19th. Other artists featured on the project include Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts, Cassadee Pope, Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich and LeAnn Rimes.
“We did not make this record for Mötley Crüe fans, but for country fans who are also rock fans,” says Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx. “There’s going to be a lot of synergy and excitement for Mötley Crüe fans hearing different artists covering their favorite songs. People will be surprised how these artists made these songs their own and we couldn’t be happier with how the album turned out.”
