On the Set of Motley Crue and Justin Moore’s ‘Home Sweet Home’
On July 1st, Rolling Stone Country will premiere the video for “Home Sweet Home,” the first single off Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe, which features artists including Florida Georgia Line, LeAnn Rimes, the Mavericks and Cassadee Pope offering country interpretations of the Eighties hard-rock titans’ biggest hits. For “Home Sweet Home,” “Lettin’ the Night Roll” singer Justin Moore adds his signature Arkansas twang to the mother of all power ballads — with a little help from the Crüe’s Vince Neil. The song’s video, filmed in Nashville, also features Neil, along with the rest of his bandmates.

“It was cool to see how excited they were, to be a part of that and maybe make some country fans,” Moore says of working with Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Neil. Though he admits he was hesitant about meeting the notorious rock bad boys at first. “You’re thinking, ‘Oh no, are they going to want to kill me for ripping their song apart?’ But they were incredibly gracious and complimentary, all four of them.”
For his part, Neil says he was happy to harmonize with Moore. “I was recording in Vegas, a new Mötley Crüe song, and they sent Justin’s tracks over and I thought it was just so I can hear it. But they said, ‘Can you throw some stuff down?’ I said, ‘Yeah, absolutely.’… I love singing with him.”
