Reporting from last year’s Jazz Fest, David Fricke quoted the late R&B singer Ernie K-Doe, who once said, “I’m not sure, but I think all music comes from New Orleans.” “No matter where music comes from,” Fricke added, “when it gets here, it ends up sounding like New Orleans.” Advance single-day tickets to this year’s Jazz Fest are $50 through January 31st.
