Sleepy Tom Tackles Corporate Slime in ‘The Currency’ Video – Premiere
In Vancouver-based DJ Sleepy Tom’s new video for “The Currency,” we follow a group of investment bankers who are on top of the world. There’s power, money, drugs and women but like a lot of times when these things mix, it eventually comes crashing down. Sleepy Tom tells Rolling Stone that the song originally had lyrics, but it wound up becoming an instrumental, so he needed the video to capture the music’s intensity.

“It’s all delivered under the premise of a video crew documenting their party gone awry,” Sleepy Tom says. “The story needed to match the intensity of the track, but also relate to the title in a unique way.”
“The Currency” came out last year on Beatport and he’s currently working on his next album for Fools Gold.
