Watch Noel Gallagher Dissect Oasis’ Legendary Fights in Lost Clip
This spring, nearly 20 years after its release, Oasis‘ Definitely Maybe was reissued and the original disc was accompanied by a pair of new ones. Now the band’s 1995 LP (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, is getting a similar treatment: The new set, out September 30th, will combine a remastered version of the original LP with the era’s complete B-sides, live recordings of tracks like “Talk Tonight” and “Some Might Say” and a handful of demos.
Above, watch a recently unearthed 1996 Australian TV clip that features guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher explaining Oasis’ unusual dynamic. “The one thing about this band is, we do have have arguments and fights, but its not behind each other’s backs,” he says. “It’s not like, waiting until the singer goes out of the room and then slagging him off. We’re all up front with each other.”
He also discusses the band’s early days and why he’s not concerned about being too rude. “People have said sometimes, ‘Oh, you’ve sort of like, disrespected so many people on the way up, what if you meet them on the way down?'” he says. “And it’s like, one, we ain’t ever gonna come down anyway, and if we do, we’ll disrespect them on the way down as well.”
(What’s the Story) Morning Glory? was included on our list of the 500 greatest of all time. The deluxe edition will be released on Big Brother Recordings can be pre-ordered here (digital) or here (physical).
