Watch Chris Young, Cassadee Pope’s Wistful Duet ‘Think of You’
Days after kicking off the second leg of the I’m Comin’ Over Tour, roadmates Chris Young and Cassadee Pope have released a music video for “Think of You,” a pop-heavy power ballad that finds the pair sharing harmonies and heartbroken confessions.
The follow-up single to I’m Comin’ Over‘s title track, “Think of You” is Young’s first duet since 2009’s “Rose in Paradise,” which found him singing alongside Willie Nelson. That song was a cover of a late-Eighties Waylon Jennings hit, while “Think of You” — co-written by Young, Corey Crowder and Josh Hoge — packs more of a personal punch, with verses that examine a reluctant breakup from both sides of the split. The video follows the same pattern, jumping between clips of both singers as they hit up separate bars, hoping to drink away the pain of their separation. By the song’s end, they both wind up at the Hermitage Cafe in downtown Nashville, pulled to the same all-night diner by either fate or the need to consume breakfast platters at 3:30 a.m. The clip ends with the two sitting across from one another, beginning to break whatever ice has formed between them.
Off-screen, the co-stars are currently one week into a month-long extension of Young’s I’m Comin’ Over Now, which cuts a wide circle around the midwest and northeast over the next month.
