Hunter Hayes Tour to Kick Off in October
After posing for numerous selfies with concertgoers in New York Friday morning, Hunter Hayes took the stage for the Today show’s Toyota Concert Series, performing “I Want Crazy,” “Tattoo” and “Invisible.”
The four-time Grammy nominee, dressed in a black t-shirt, displayed an intricate henna tattoo sleeve running down the length of his right arm. A closer look at the temporary tat revealed the names of several cities within its design. Hayes then explained that the ink was done in recognition of the special announcement he was making: that he would be heading out this fall on his Tattoo (Your Name) tour. The headlining trek, which is set to kick off October 30th at Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania, will include Hayes’ labelmates Dan + Shay and country newcomers the Railers. (See the full list of his fall tour dates below.)
A self-professed control freak, Hayes tells Rolling Stone Country of the upcoming tour, “I’m very obsessive about all the different elements of the show. Because, why wouldn’t you be? [Laughs] If you get to a point where you have the truck space to take a production into a larger venue, if you’re a headliner and you have the opportunity to do longer than 45 minutes, why wouldn’t you take every minute and take it very seriously?”
The multi-talented musician adds that fans are not just a part of the show, they are the show, and in keeping with the new tour’s theme, while he was performing on the Today stage, three henna artists moved through the crowd inking fans with his new tour logo.
