Tim McGraw Turns ‘City Lights’ on for ‘The Voice’
Tim McGraw isn’t much for keeping secrets.
The country superstar has now leaked the fourth song from his upcoming album, Sundown Heaven Town, due for release September 16th. He performed the mid-tempo love song “City Lights” on Tuesday’s season finale of The Voice. The lyrics are about a country boy in awe of a girl who’s “like a broken heart you can’t wait to have.”

“I am cigarette burning slow on a summer night/She’s city lights,” he sang in the chorus.
“City Lights” follows McGraw’s performance of another new song, “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s” at April’s ACM Awards, and “Shotgun Rider” on The Tonight Show in February. “Lookin’ for that Girl” was released back in January as the album’s first single, but was yanked from the airwaves after a few weeks in favor of “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s.”
