Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum Crash Spring Break in ’22 Jump Street’
Nothing says “I’m ready to have fun at spring break” like a grenade stuffed down your shorts — which is exactly how Jonah Hill suits up in the new, out-of-control, undoubtedly NSFW red-band trailer for 22 Jump Street. The sequel to 2012’s 21 Jump Street finds Hill and Channing Tatum teaming up again as undercover cops Schmidt and Jenko (after learning to love and trust each other again during some much-needed couples counseling, as the trailer shows), but instead of infiltrating high school, this time they’re going back to college.
’22 Jump Street’ and 60 More Reasons to Love 2014
Amidst setting up their hotplate and shotgunning cheap beers, the pair follows a lead to Mexico where they must bust up a major drug deal during spring break. The ensuing action finds Hill in an awkward fist fight and getting attacked by an octopus, while Tatum, in a football uniform, runs through a library after threatening the possible drug king pins with a terrifying: “Remember me? I’m you’re best nightma— I’m you’re worst nightmare!” And like Chekhov’s gun, the grenade in Hill’s shorts makes its inevitable return — though grabbing a hold of it proves to be particularly challenging for Tatum.
22 Jump Street is scheduled to hit theaters on June 13th.
