Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Set First U.S. Tour in Two Years
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will embark on their first U.S. tour in nearly two years this January as The Heist duo have scheduled a month-long trek at intimate venues across the nation. The jaunt, which kicks off January 9th in Phoenix, will be followed by a spring 2016 tour in support of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ upcoming new album.
For the January/February trek, one dollar from every ticket purchased will go to support Equal Justice Initiative, Youth Speaks and the 30/30 Project, organizations that advance issues of equity and justice. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ still-untitled new LP will feature the singles “Downtown” and “Growing Up (Sloane’s Song),” an Ed Sheeran-featuring track dedicated to Macklemore’s daughter Sloane Ave Simone.
Rolling Stone spoke to the duo in September, when they were still two or three songs away from completing their Heist follow-up, due out by year’s end. “I’m feeling great about this album,” Macklemore said. “It has a diversity of sounds and textures and concepts. We’ve been able to take our time with it, and it’s a great feeling to get to that point.”
