‘Dumb and Dumber To’ Due Next November
Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas – everyone’s two favorite doofuses – will return on November 14th, 2014 with the release of Dumb and Dumber To, according to the The Hollywood Reporter. The sequel to the 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber – which celebrates its 20th anniversary next year – will reunite Jim Carrey (Lloyd)and Jeff Daniels (Harry) as blundering best friends who go on a road trip to find Harry’s long-lost daughter. Helmed by original directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly, the film features Rob Riggle, Rachel Melvin, Laurie Holden, Steven Tom and Kathleen Turner; Jennifer Lawrence is also set for a cameo as the younger version of Turner’s character.

The film began production in September, as Daniels confirmed during an interview on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this past summer. More recently, though, the actor promised Dumb and Dumber To would be even more outrageous than the original after picking up the Emmy Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his turn in the HBO drama The Newsroom. “We’re going to do things in Dumb and Dumber To that make the [original] toilet scene look lame – pales in comparison,” he told Rolling Stone. “I can’t divulge what [the new scenes are], just that they’ve topped it.”

Back in 2003, a Dumb and Dumber prequel, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd was released, and while neither Carrey nor Daniels appeared in it, the Farrelly Brothers had a hand in the script. Dumb and Dumber To‘s future was in limbo earlier this year after Warner Bros. decided not to back project, but the sequel was revived when Universal stepped in to produce.
