Florida Georgia Line Find Inspiration for New Album Via ‘Reminiscing’
As Florida Georgia Line hunker down in Nashville to finish the follow-up to their double platinum debut, Here’s to the Good Times, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley have finally found some time to look back on their meteoric rise as country music’s hottest duo. In the process, they’ve found inspiration for their new batch of songs.

“It’s been a hell of a ride. The past couple years we’re able to start seeing them clearly now. It all happened so fast, and it’s cool to start reminiscing and looking back at some pictures,” Kelley tells Rolling Stone Country. “That’s also affected the album: reminiscing and looking at all the good times that Here’s to the Good Times allowed us to have.”
With a number of songs in contention for the final track list — the duo estimate they have written or co-written about half of the tracks on the as-yet-untitled album — Hubbard and Kelley, along with producer Joey Moi, are weighing which will make the cut. It’s an often difficult process, Hubbard shares.
“Honestly, it’s hard to pick one I’m more pumped about than the next,” he says of the songs. “All of them have their own flavor, their own taste, and all serve their purpose. They fit their slot on the record and it’s fun to listen to all the songs and not want to skip one. That’s one of our goals when we’re recording — slam an album full of singles and make people want to listen to every song.”
First single “Dirt” is currently resting at Number One on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart and the duo is gearing up for a busy late-summer and fall. Still, Kelley says the Good Times and now “Dirt” success hasn’t clouded their vision.
“Yeah, there have been a lot of changes, but we’re still Tyler and BK and we always will be. A lot of people maybe know who we are and know what we look like, but we are as focused as ever on the music, on our fans, and the road,” Kelley says. “We love what we do.”
