UFC’s Conor McGregor Says He’s the Strongest Man in Westeros
Conor McGregor wants you to know that he’s the most dangerous man in Westeros.
In October, a video surfaced of McGregor sparring with one of the strongest dudes in the world: Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson, better known as “The Mountain” from Game of Thrones. As is the case with most things involving UFC‘s interim Featherweight Champion – who some believe is now a bigger star than Ronda Rousey – the video quickly spread like wildfire to the tune of nearly 10 million views.
But while the Mountain had you thinking it was a close contest, McGregor wants you to know that it was just another day in the office.
“It was a lot of fun,” McGregor said during a media luncheon. “That’s a big man – 6-foot-9, 400 pounds – and I still folded him up. I was hitting him with some shots; I had to hit him with some shots. He was trying to hit me, as well. People say, ‘He was taking it easy.’ He tried to grab me and tried to pull my head off and I defended, freed the head. I was like, ‘This motherfucker is so big, I have to start smacking him to the body.'”
For three minutes, McGregor used his size and speed to his advantage by running circles around the Mountain. Then, he unleashed a handful of brutal body shots that wore down one of the strongest human beings on the planet.
“I sunk him good,” McGregor continued. “I caught him good. Not even a Mountain can take these shots from me.”
All of what McGregor said was in good fun – we hope. We’d hate to see him end up like poor Oberyn Martell.
