David Guetta, Skrillex, Avicii Invading Atlanta for TomorrowWorld
Huge week for Atlanta music festival-wise: First, the ATL gets three OutKast homecoming shows and now TomorrowWorld, the famed European EDM festival that came stateside last year, has revealed its insane lineup. The 2014 TomorrowWorld reads like a Who’s Who of EDM superstars: David Guetta, Skrillex, Diplo, Zedd, Avicii, Bassnectar, Kaskade, Tiesto and countless more dance acts will invade the Chattahoochee Hills outside of Atlanta from September 26th to 28th.
Summer 2014’s 40 Must-See Music Festivals
An estimated 140,000 festivalgoers – each 21 years old and over, as per the rules – attended last year’s inaugural TomorrowWorld, the American spinoff of the popular, decade-old Tomorrowland dance festival held in Belgium every July. In addition to the headliners, other EDM faves attending include Richie Hawtin, Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Romero, A-Trak, Dillon Francis and dozens more.
We named TomorrowWorld one of the 40 Must-See Music Festivals this year, adding that the grounds feel like a “fantasy environment reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland’s 2010 Tim Burton remix.” One person who probably won’t be there is Deadmau5, who talked about the EDM scene’s coming demise in a recent interview. “Disco had a longer run than EDM has, to be honest about it, and that died in a fucking hurry,” he continues. “EDM is way more susceptible because that was in a time when they didn’t have mass social media and all that shit. It’s not gonna be me saying, ‘OK, EDM’s done,’ and the whole thing falls apart, but I think it’ll eventually fuck itself so hard.”
