The Allman Brothers Band Reveal Final October Tour Dates
The Allman Brothers Band have officially announced their final live shows, with six performances booked for late October at their legendary New York hot-spot the Beacon Theatre. Four of these gigs (Tuesday, October 21st; Wednesday, the 22nd; Friday, the 24th and Saturday, the 25th) are make-up dates, following the band’s truncated Beacon residency in March (with frontman Gregg Allman battling bronchitis); the final two dates are scheduled for Monday, October 27th and Tuesday, the 28th.

According to a press release, tickets purchased for the canceled March shows (March 25th, 26th, 28th and 29th) will be honored chronologically for the first four October shows. (For example, tickets purchased for the March 25th show will be honored for the October 21st show.) Fans unable to attend the rescheduled performances can refund their tickets at the point of purchase before August 1st. Ticket info for two newly added October dates will be made available soon.
It’s been a roller-coaster year for ABB fans. First, longtime guitarists Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes announced they’d be leaving the band at the end of 2014; then Gregg Allman told Relix that the whole band would call it quits (at least as a fully-formed touring act) at the end of the year before flip-flopping in a May interview with Radio.com, saying they were “replacing Derek Trucks” with a new guitarist.
Despite the confusion, the band has a solid run of shows lined up before their final curtain call. Prior to their stint at the Beacon (where they’ve played 232 times since 1989), they’ll play at New York’s Mountain Jam on Sunday, June 8th, followed by two nights of concerts at their own Peach Festival, which takes place from August 14th to 17th in Northeast Pennsylvania. They’ll close out their festival run with a show at the Lockn’ Music Fest in Arrington, Virginia on Sunday, September 7th.
