Against Me! Singer Laura Jane Grace Stars in New Reality Series
Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace first went public with her desire to live as a woman almost two years ago, in an interview with Rolling Stone. Now, she’s documenting her transition in a new series for AOL.

Tellingly titled So Much More, the show follows Grace as she tours in support of AM!’s Transgender Dysphoria Blues album, meeting other gender-variant people and navigating her transition from male to female.
“It took until I was 31 to publicly come out as a transgender woman; nothing has been the same since,” Grace says in a trailer for the series. “You build it up in your head beforehand … ‘Should I transition?’ And you’re following through with that and you realize life’s a transition, everyone’s in transition, that’s just the way it is. … That’s what I hope [the show] gives other people, too, that they feel like they’re not alone in the world.”
The series also aims to demystify Grace’s transition, making the point that a desire for change is one of the few things all humans have in common.
“I’m not the person I was yesterday, and I’m not the person that I’m going to be tomorrow,” Grace says. “I’m just figuring it out as I go along, just like anyone else in the world.”
The series, which has yet to reveal a premiere date, is one of 16 new series scheduled to debut later this year on AOL’s On Network.
